Reminisce
Salam fellow friends,A few weeks back, I found a picture that took me back to 6 years ago. It was a picture of my hand bouquet for my wedding! ahakss.. back during those days Cascade bridal bouquet was the trend.. My 2 aunties: Chu Yah & Mak Ngah (who came down all the way from the down under) did the hand bouquet for me. Flowers used was various types of orchids including the Tiger Orchid & mixing them with Baby's Breath. As you can see, the picture didn't turn out very well though. (Back then, digital camera was just at the beginning of it's era). But everyone just loved the bouquet, some even said that the guests would probably notice the flowers more than me! LOL!..it's sooo not sweet for the bride, right?... ;)

Happy Eid Adha. Qurban is around the corner!
Salam,
Alhamdulillah, we get to live another day to have the opportunity to do Qurban (again). For those who missed the details:
Alhamdulillah, we get to live another day to have the opportunity to do Qurban (again). For those who missed the details:
The act of Qurban (Sacrifice) is carried out by millions of Muslims every year during Eid Al-Adha following the example of the father of Prophets, Ibrahim (AS).
Allah (SWT) says in the Quran: "It is neither their meat nor their blood, that reaches Allah, it is your piety that reaches Him". (Al Qur'an, Ch:22 v:37)
The prophet Muhammad PBUH was asked "What is Qurban?", He answered, "It is the sunnah of your father Ibrahim (AS), for every hair of the Qurban you will receive a reward from Allah and for every hair in the wool you will receive a reward". (Hadith - Ibn Maja and Tirmidhi).
Please bear in mind that if you have done it once, it doesn't mean that it's enough. As long as you can afford, do make it as a yearly tradition of your family - have a fund box for your Qurban at home. It's so easy & hassle free if you save as low as RM1 per day, per person and by the next Eid Adha, you'll get to do Qurban again (without even thinking if you can afford it or NOT!) *Sigh* How many of us deliberately spent RM1 per day on unnecessary things? I believed I did that and now I vow to call it for a change - for the sake of the people in needs & for the reward from ALLAH as HE promised. May ALLAH granted us more of the livelihood & prosperity, for us to continue this act of Qurban yearly without missed. Amin.Wednesday, October 7, 2009
Salam Eid ul-Fitr
Salam,
I hope it's not too late to wish fellow readers Salam Eid ul-Fitr.
I was away for nearly 2 weeks for the Eid ul-Fitr celebration, went for a short anniversary honeymoon trip and just got back to work this week.
I bet people around are still busy with Eid ul-Fitr's open house everywhere during the weekends.
With all the dishes that you simply cannot resist, be moderate and eat right so you will not go overboard and whinning over you weight gain for the next 2 weeks!
Have a very happy Syawal month. Take care!
